While the children swim in the pond, Ann discovers a severed hand, later identified as Hollister's. The discovery triggers a psychological breakdown in Ann as the violence envelops the family. The case becomes more personal and disturbing.

In the house's basement, Justin is attacked and killed by the claw-handed figure. Sturgess and police search for him around the home. The killer's presence becomes more undeniable and deadly.

David unearths an antique crucifix from the pond, which Elvira claims has kept the witch dormant. He also uncovers a church archive detailing a 1692 inquisition and the drowning death of Elondra Sharack. The revelation links the hauntings to the village's dark history and a church fire.

Sturgess discovers Arlen hiding in a secret basement room and arrests him. Inside the same space, the witch strikes and kills Sturgess, marking a turning point in the battle against the haunting. Arlen's capture intensifies the drive toward the final confrontation.

Melinda discovers Justin’s body and is killed by the witch, who later slays George when a window mirror explodes. Sheryl is killed in the attic as the violence escalates. David returns with the crucifix and kills Mary, revealed as the witch, by driving the crucifix through her heart, but Elondra’s hand drags him under the pond, drowning him. The haunting ends in a fatal drowning for David.
