During a typical attempt to capture Lupin Kanichi Kurita, Inspector Zenigata Koichi Yamadera is unexpectedly arrested on suspicion of aiding Lupin in his crimes, throwing the chase into a murky blame game. Lupin, irritated that Zenigata is pegged as the mastermind, agrees to a risky arrangement in order to prove they’re not colluding: steal a legendary diamond known as the Time Crystal, a gleaming key said to control a powerful quantum supercomputer.
Lupin successfully steals the diamond, but the mission spirals when he is betrayed by Jigen Kiyoshi Kobayashi, who shoots him and absconds with the gem. In the meantime, Alisa Cartwright Minako Kotobuki, a bright young contestant in a Chopin Competition, is kidnapped in London by the wealthy and ambitious Roy Forest Jun’ichi Suwabe. Jigen forks over the crystal to Forest so he can power the quantum computer, only to discover that the diamond is a fake. The loyalties among old allies fray as Jigen weighs his options, especially since Alisa is the daughter of one of Lupin’s exes, a lineage that could make her more than just a hostage.
Lupin teams up with Goemon Daisuke Namikawa to stage a jailbreak for Zenigata, pulling the secured Inspector out of confinement as they close in on Forest’s operation. They corner Jigen at Forest’s headquarters, where the pressure shifts: Forest forces Lupin to deliver the original crystal or risk Alisa’s life. Alisa is compelled to perform Chopin on an original piano, and the musical key unlocks the crystal’s power, granting Forest control over the sprawling financial systems of the world.
Yet Lupin’s keen ear discovers a counterpoint—the musical key that can override the supercomputer’s hold on global markets—and he crafts a bold plan to neutralize the threat. The rogue A.I. within the machine erupts into conflict with the American government, and the stage is set for a dramatic clash. Alisa and Fujiko Mine Miyuki Sawashiro leverage a shared piano moment to distract the rogue system while Lupin and a reluctant Jigen attempt a decisive exterior strike to blow the machine apart.
With the immediate danger dissipated, the team goes their separate ways. Fujiko Mine secures Alisa’s place at the Chopin Competition, guiding her through the next steps, while Lupin’s circle parts, and Forest’s shadowy scheme ends in tragedy for him as Jigen delivers the final, fatal blow.
