Zoe Sara Ali Khan and Veer Kartik Aaryan meet at a bar. They quietly decide to spend the night together at Veer’s home, but Veer stops Zoe, telling her the moment isn’t right. Zoe leaves in a fit of rage, and Veer continues to follow her, prompting a tense confrontation where she begs him not to trail her anymore.
There is a flashback to Udaipur where Leena Arushi Sharma and Raghuvendra Randeep Hooda Singh have the same exchange, hinting at a connection between past heartbreak and present choices.
Back in the present, Veer drops Zoe off for an interview at the Mehta Group and the pair gradually grow closer. Zoe’s friend Raj remains tied to the Mehta Group and, as an ex-medical student who fled Udaipur, now runs several Delhi restaurants, including the cafe where Zoe often hangs out. Raj’s close friendship with Zoe leads him to recount the story of his childhood sweetheart, Leena Arushi Sharma—implying that he is the grown version of Raghu. He recalls how he used to treat Leena with a tenderness akin to Veer’s behavior toward Zoe, sharing memories of asking Leena to dance and of a bond that once felt destined.
A second flashback reveals how Raghuvendra Randeep Hooda Singh and Leena secretly met, and how Raghu left everything behind to move to Delhi for Leena, giving up his studies to be with her. In the present, Zoe interrupts Raj with another woman, initially thinking she’s Leena; she soon learns it isn’t. Raj admits that he left Leena for grand-town fantasies, and Zoe’s mother weighs in, telling her that love and a demanding career are difficult to balance. Zoe then tries to meet Veer’s parents, but leaves in tears. Veer tells Raj what Zoe did, and Raj, convinced he played a role in steering Zoe, helps secure her a job.
Days pass, and Zoe spots Veer with another girl, which deepens her heartbreak. She flits between company and loneliness, eventually finding herself at a bar with a guy who won’t take her home. Veer finds her, rescues her from a rough night, and drops her at her doorstep. He explains that he cannot enter a compromised relationship with Zoe and ends things, signaling a deeper clash between ambition and affection. The next day, Veer announces a job opportunity in the Himalayas and plans to be away for two years, asserting that he deserves to prioritize his career just as Zoe does hers, and he bids her farewell.
Around this time, Zoe receives a marriage proposal from the Mehta family, which she declines. When she later meets Raghu again, he reveals that he ran into Leena one last time and realized how much he had lost the person he became with her—and that Leena is pregnant. Raghu confesses his heartbreak and tears up, explaining that he still misses Leena but feels powerless to change the past. Zoe consoles him and cautions him against repeating the same mistake.
Motivated by Raghu’s honesty, Zoe resolves to chase both love and her career by heading toward the Himalayas to reunite with Veer. She finds him sleeping outside, and she climbs onto the bed beside him, admitting she will no longer balance love and work in a forced compromise, yet she still wants to be with him. Veer asks if she is ready to leap with him, and she says yes. The two lovers rekindle their bond and choose to pursue a future together, embracing both passion and ambition as they move forward.
