Eddie, Tom, Soap, and Bacon, four lifelong friends and minor delinquents from London, gather to formulate a plan. They decide to venture into the dangerous high-stakes card games run by gangster 'Hatchet' Harry Lonsdale, believing Eddie's card-playing skills will secure their fortune.

Eddie steps into the high-stakes world of three-card brag under the watchful eye of Harry Lonsdale. Unfortunately, his inexperience soon leads the group into deep trouble, as they end up losing a staggering £500,000 to Harry in a single game.
