In the heart of Manhattan, ten-year-old Gabe navigates the tumultuous waters of childhood amidst the backdrop of his parents’ looming divorce. His days are filled with adventure as he zooms around on his beloved scooter, mapping out his daily escapades, thanks to the friendly guidance of the building’s concierge. Everything takes a new turn when Gabe partners up with Rosemary, an 11-year-old classmate he’s known since kindergarten, in a self-defense class. This experience awakens in him a sweet fascination, as he begins to see her not only as a friend but as something much more special.
