Set against the factories, pubs, clubs and streets of 1980s Liverpool, this New Wave‑style romantic comedy follows two local women, Teresa and Elaine, who meet Russian sailors Sergei and Peter. Teresa seeks a night of fun, while Elaine dreams of love and an escape from the docklands. Their brief encounter sparks friendship, a letter to Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev, and a heart‑warming blend of 80s music, fashion and a touch of politics.
