Gino, a mafia boss, is murdered while he is with Angela. The killer's act pulls Angela deeper into the criminal world and exposes the danger surrounding Father Mike because of his family ties. Michael arrives in the village for a religious festival and seeks truth amid the tension. He observes the Virgin statue and, moved by the conflict between faith and sin, discards his priestly ring. The act marks a surrender to worldly impulses over priestly vows.

Michael goes to the hotel and lies that he loves Angela; they have sex again in a doomed moment of passion. Afterward, Angela wakes to find him gone and the distance between them grows. The encounter underscores the fragility of their relationship and the costs of betrayal.

Angela is fatally shot by Zena in the hotel room as Michael descends the stairs. He moves toward a waiting limousine where Zena sits beside him, thanking him for his part in the outcome. They drive away together, bound by blood and oath.
