Laid to Rest

A young woman with amnesia breaks free from a coffin in the funeral home’s morgue. She dials 911 but accidentally unhooks the phone while speaking to the operator. The escape triggers a deadly chase as the killer closes in.

ChromeSkull descends on the mortician and impales him with his chrome skull mask and camera rig. The girl confronts him, stabbing him in the eye, and escapes into the funeral home corridors. The mortician’s death marks the start of a relentless pursuit.

Tucker finds the amnesiac girl and brings her home to his wife Cindy. He promises to take her to the sheriff’s station in the morning, noting their gas is low and phone service is down. A fragile alliance forms as they move toward safety.

ChromeSkull tracks the trail to Tucker’s house and murders Cindy, leaving Tucker and the girl on the run. The attack heightens the sense of danger as they flee in Tucker’s truck. The killer remains an ever-present threat.

Tucker and Princess escape in Tucker’s truck while ChromeSkull deals with Cindy’s brother Johnny and his girlfriend who had checked on Cindy. The pursuit continues on the open road as they seek help. ChromeSkull remains determined to capture his prey.

The trio seeks aid from recluse Steven, who uses his computer to email for help. He researches ChromeSkull and uncovers his MO of sending tapes of his murders to authorities. The plan shifts toward outsmarting the killer with information.

They reach the police station only to find the sheriff and a deputy dead. ChromeSkull waits for them, and the group wounds his leg before escaping toward the funeral home. The path of violence moves closer to their next destination.

Princess explores the area and discovers a nearby barn containing several of ChromeSkull’s previous victims. The grim sight confirms the killer’s pattern and raises the stakes for the escape. The team realizes they are almost out of safe options.

ChromeSkull beheads a still-living captive, knocks Princess unconscious, and places her in a coffin. The danger escalates as the killer tightens his grip on his prey. The struggle for survival reaches a breaking point.

Tucker shoots ChromeSkull in the leg and drives away in ChromeSkull’s car, taking Princess and Steven with him. They gain a temporary reprieve, though the killer remains in pursuit. The trio fights to reach a safer destination.

Princess watches footage on ChromeSkull’s camera and learns he was in league with the mortician. She also finds paperwork revealing ChromeSkull’s real name, Jesse Cromeans. The revelations add a personal edge to the pursuit as they try to stay ahead.

In a tense showdown at a convenience store, ChromeSkull forces Princess to fetch a new tape while killing bystanders. Tucker and Steven arrive to aid, and they replace his glue with cyanoacrylate, melting his mask. Princess defeats ChromeSkull, Tucker dies protecting her, and Tommy and Princess plan to head to Atlanta; police later arrive and find the missing-person flyer Princess had written on the back of.
