Kuberan, a small-time crook, Yogi Babu is desperate to raise cash to outrun the police. Kumaravel, Prasanna, an honest police officer, fights to save his wife Sangeetha, Shruti Marathe, who battles thyroid cancer, and his own dwindling finances. Karthik, a poor carpenter who loves Meera, Rittika Sen, also faces money troubles as he plans for a future with her.
During India’s 2016 demonetisation, Kumaravel hatches a risky plan to stage fake IT raids on suspected black-money hoarders, with Kuberan at the helm. The scheme works at first, swamping the system with old notes and yielding quick money. But pressure mounts: Sangeetha’s treatment remains expensive, and Kumaravel agrees to one final raid to cover debts and keep hope alive. In a house he raids, Kuberan pockets crores of old currency and unexpectedly finds Karthik hiding in the owner’s bedroom. On Karthik’s plea, Kuberan swears to keep quiet, sparking a tense moral clash between the two men.
Karthik pushes for a share, but the true loot belongs to a corrupt ACP Ravichandran, who starts connecting the dots. Kumaravel claims that the nationwide CBI raids during the note-exchange era created a feverish rush for cash, and their plan shifts again toward a new target—Govindan, a notorious corporate figure. The attempt collapses, Karthik withdraws for the sake of his unborn child, and Kumaravel returns to honest work, surrendering the illicit money to Ravichandran.
Not deterred, Kuberan launches a second raid against Govindan’s house with a fresh team and pulls out about 15 crore in new currency. Ravichandran arrests Kuberan and seizes the black money, but Kuberan has captured the whole sequence on a hidden camera. In a twist, Ravichandran releases him and even shares a portion of the loot. Sangeetha receives aid from a charitable foundation to fund her treatment. Karthik goes ahead and marries Meera, who also benefits from a share of the money. Kumaravel continues to serve with honesty, and the trio—Kuberan, Karthik, and their partners—heads to Bangkok to start a new life.
