L for Love, L for Lies

After graduating, Bo opens a sweets shop with her longtime boyfriend Jun and envisions a stable future together. They work hard to get the business running and imagine marriage once everything is settled. This period establishes Bo's hopeful mindset before the upheaval begins.

Bo reconnects with her old Taiwanese classmate Kei Kei and treats her as a friend. Kei Kei admires Jun's hard work and kind nature and decides to steal him for herself, paying little mind to Bo's feelings. The seed of betrayal is planted in Bo's life.

Kei Kei's pursuit leads Jun to leave Bo for her, ending their relationship. Bo not only loses the long-time love of her life but also the sweet shop she poured so much into. The combination of romance and business loss hits Bo hard.

Ah-Man, Bo's friend, maintains a pattern of short relationships while hiding her own insecurities from Fung. Fung himself is two-timing with another woman, adding strain to both couples. Their parallel turmoil sets up a backdrop of deception and desire.

Bo lands a job as a makeup artist in a mall and attends a celebration for her boss Kuen's engagement. At the party, she recognizes Kuen's fiancée as someone familiar—the former neighbor Keung. The encounter foreshadows future entanglements.

A month later, Kuen's wedding is abruptly canceled when the fiancé vanishes with his life savings. Bo unexpectedly runs into Keung on the street, discovering that he is a conman. The incident deepens Bo's distrust of romance and clues her toward a plan.

Bo decides to take matters into her own hands and hires Keung to mislead Kei Kei, hoping to teach her a lesson for betraying Bo. Keung, familiar with deception, starts laying the groundwork for Kei Kei's downfall. The uneasy alliance sets the stage for further twists.

Keung encounters his ex-girlfriend Yan, who mentions her family moving to Singapore, highlighting his troubled history. In a drunken moment, Keung kisses Bo as she consoles him. This moment deepens Bo's conflicted feelings toward him.

Keung succeeds in winning Kei Kei's affection, though she eventually abandons him. Meanwhile, Jun decides to reconcile with Bo, reigniting their past relationship even as Bo's feelings begin shifting toward Keung. The emotional tides pull Bo away from her previous life.

A few months later, Kei Kei takes all the money and disappears, bankrupting Jun's sweets shop. It turns out this was part of Keung's plan to deceive Kei Kei and test Bo's resolve. The betrayal completes a harsh arc for all involved.

Having deceived Kei Kei and retrieved the money, Keung steps back and watches Bo and Jun from a distance. Bo notices his presence, while she remains unsure about her lingering feelings. The tension between past deception and present romance lingers in the air.

Keung arrives at Bo and Jun's restaurant, badly injured and trying to confess his love. Before Bo can reach him, his thugs' assault leaves him on the ground, and he dies from his wounds. The tragedy closes his arc and alters Bo's perception of love and sacrifice.

In the film's finale, Bo and Ah-Man meet in real life and confront their evolving lives. Bo discovers that Man's new boyfriend is Jun, the man she once loved, casting their reunion in an ironic light. The ending reframes love as a mosaic of lies, forgiveness, and unexpected connections.
