Ilango believes that marrying his sister Kavitha to a wealthy man will secure their family's future and elevate their social status. As a middle-class youngster with big dreams, he sees wealth as the key to opening doors and providing security for his family. This ambition drives much of the film's comedic misadventures as he schemes to find the perfect wealthy groom for his sister.

Ilango's mentor mistakes Nandha for a member of a wealthy family, believing he comes from an affluent background. This misidentification leads Ilango to rent out the upper portion of his building to Nandha, thinking he is a potential wealthy suitor. Unbeknownst to Ilango, Nandha is actually the son of a wealthy industrialist who has been living independently, and he simply needs a place to stay.

The mentor's initial assessment of Nandha as a wealthy heir sets up the central misunderstanding of the film.

Despite Nandha's genuine kindness, evidenced by his generosity toward a family of employees who lost their breadwinner, Ilango believes Nandha is poor. Viewing Nandha as an unsuitable match for his sister, Ilango teams up with Chellappa to discredit Nandha by planting cannabis and hiring a prostitute to ruin his reputation. The plan backfires spectacularly, as Kavitha's faith in Nandha only grows stronger after witnessing his true character.

Ilango and Chellappa plot to separate Kavitha from Nandha by framing Nandha as a criminal and morally corrupt person. They plant cannabis in Nandha's belongings and hire a prostitute to create a scandal. The scheme is designed to make Kavitha believe Nandha is unworthy, forcing her to give up on him. However, the plan fails completely because Kavitha remains loyal to Nandha and sees through the manipulation.

When Ilango approaches Nandha's father to ask for his son's hand in marriage for Kavitha, the father refuses. His reason is that Ilango has deceived multiple people throughout his schemes, planting drugs and hiring a prostitute to frame Nandha. The father argues that his son cannot marry the sister of such a deceitful man, believing Ilango's character reflects poorly on Kavitha as well.

Nandha's father's refusal stems directly from Ilango's earlier failed manipulations, which have created a negative reputation.

After Nandha's father arranges Nandha's marriage to the daughter of an education minister, Ilango and Chellappa devise a final scheme. They disguise themselves as caterers and infiltrate the wedding hall. During the ceremony, they substitute Kavitha for the original bride, effectively switching the brides. This audacious trick results in Nandha accidentally marrying Kavitha instead of the minister's daughter.

Several factors change Ilango's perspective. First, Nandha's father undergoes a transformation and reconciles with his son, welcoming him back home. This event shows Ilango that wealth does not define a person's worth or happiness. Additionally, Ilango witnesses Nandha's genuine kindness and character through his actions toward others. Most importantly, Ilango realizes that his own deceptive schemes have caused more harm than good, and he ultimately wants his sister to be happy with the man she loves.

Nandha's father's change of heart marks the turning point that helps Ilango see beyond wealth.

Ilango's transformation from valuing money above all else to prioritizing genuine love happens gradually. Key moments include witnessing Nandha's kindness toward the employee family, observing Nandha's father's reform and reconciliation, and experiencing the failure of his own materialistic schemes. When Nandha's father welcomes his son back despite past conflicts, Ilango realizes that wealth alone cannot buy happiness or virtue. This awakening leads him to embrace his sister's choice and pursue his own true love with Roopa.

Roopa is initially promised to another man by her family, but Ilango rescues her from that situation and brings her to his residence. This act of rescue marks the turning point in Ilango's own romantic journey, as his infatuation with Roopa shifts from purely physical attraction to genuine affection. From that point, Ilango's priorities begin to change as he focuses more on his own love story with Roopa.

Chellappa is a small-time thief and broker who becomes entangled in Ilango's schemes throughout the film. His motivations appear to be driven by the thrill of the capers themselves and perhaps loyalty to Ilango as a friend. Despite their schemes consistently backfiring, Chellappa remains committed to helping Ilango, contributing to the film's comedic元素. Their partnership drives many of the misadventures that push the plot forward.
