In a suburb of Madurai, Suriyan, the elder twin, works at a lending library and falls for Manimekalai, the daughter of MLA Namasivayam. His younger brother Chandran helps with the election campaign and is romantically involved with Tamizhselvi. The brothers' lives set the stage for conflict as politics and love collide.

When he learns of his daughter's love for Suriyan, Namasivayam orders his men to kill the elder brother. The plan is swift, ruthless, and reveals the brutal politics at play.

The assailants strike, but they accidentally attack Chandran instead of Suriyan. Chandran escapes, while Suriyan remains at risk as the threat to the couple continues.

Chandran visits Manimekalai and asks her to forget his brother. She confesses her love and decides to elope with Suriyan, staging a plan to run away together.

Suriyan and Manimekalai flee the suburb and wait for a bus, hoping to start a new life away from the politicians’ reach. They believe they have bought themselves time.

As the bus arrives, Suriyan steps out to approach it and is fatally stabbed by Namasivayam's goons. Manimekalai is seized and taken away as their plan is crushed.

Chandran is stunned to find that the body prepared for burial in the mortuary is actually his elder brother Suriyan. He resolves to confront the mastermind behind the tragedy but is restrained by the gardener.

Chandran goes to an out-of-town lodge where Namasivayam stays and pleads that their political opponents killed his brother. Namasivayam pretends to call the police and a judge to sort things out and buys time.

The next day, Manimekalai takes her own life by hanging herself in her bedroom, a devastating consequence of the conspiracies and heartbreak. Her death further unsettles the already tense situation.

Namasivayam goes to the mortuary to pay his respects, only to be confronted by Chandran, who rises and kills him and two of his goons in a shocking revenge.

Tamizhselvi helps Chandran finish the revenge by closing the mortuary doors to keep the rest of the goons out while the women in the crowd attack the remaining assailants.

Chandran and Tamizhselvi are arrested by the police, ending the immediate pursuit but leaving their fates uncertain in a city that has just witnessed brutal political and personal revenge.
