Kill Boksoon

Bok-soon, a highly skilled assassin, has always led a dangerous double life, balancing her brutal profession with her desire to be a good mother to her teenage daughter, Jae-yeong. Throughout the film, Bok-soon finds herself caught between her work and her personal morals, especially when her principles clash with her employer Min-kyu’s orders. Her refusal to kill a politician’s son—an act she perceives as morally wrong—leads to a series of betrayals and escalating violence within the criminal organization. As Min-kyu’s sister, Min-hee, seizes the opportunity to eliminate Bok-soon and her allies, a brutal confrontation ensues. Bok-soon kills everyone who betrays her, including her lover Hee-seong, and finally confronts Min-kyu in a tense showdown. In their final moments, Min-kyu reveals that their fight has been secretly recorded and streamed on a tablet, hinting that Jae-yeong might witness her mother’s violent side. Despite this, Bok-soon chooses to kill Min-kyu anyway, driven by a need for revenge and to protect her integrity, knowing that her actions will likely be seen by her daughter. Afterward, she returns home, where her daughter is sleeping peacefully. Jae-yeong asks her mother to keep her door open, signaling a desire for closeness and understanding despite the grim events. The ending leaves viewers wondering whether Jae-yeong saw her mother’s murder or if she remains unaware. The mid-credits scene suggests that Jae-yeong possesses her mother’s ruthless streak, as she calmly bids farewell to her friend and appears more confident and dangerous, hinting that the cycle of violence and moral ambiguity is passing to the next generation.
