Sarah Collins, played by Sarah Bolger, finds herself in a harrowing situation after experiencing the traumatic loss of her husband, Stephen. The movie opens with Sarah covered in blood, quietly retreating to the bathroom to shower and clean herself up from the chaos. The narrative then takes us back to days earlier, revealing Sarah’s struggles as she tries to cope with her grief while taking care of their two children, Ben and Lucy. Ben, portrayed by Rudy Doherty, has been unusually silent since witnessing his father’s murder in broad daylight, a trauma that leaves Sarah desperately trying to find ways to support and care for her family amidst overwhelming stress.

Sarah’s mother, Alice, played by Jane Brennan, offers some support but often criticizes her daughter’s choices, adding to Sarah’s emotional burden. Meanwhile, Sarah remains anxious over the unresolved mystery of Stephen’s death, frequently checking in with authorities, only to find no new leads. On the streets, a criminal named Tito Reilly, portrayed by Andrew Simpson, begins a series of dangerous actions. Tito steals a car, crashes it, and breaks into a vehicle to steal drugs, setting off a chain of violent events. As he is pursued by the police, Tito forces his way into Sarah’s home, demanding she hide him while she keeps her children in their room to stay safe.

Over the following days, Tito repeatedly visits Sarah’s house, storing stolen drugs and giving her small amounts of money. Despite her protests and discomfort, Tito coerces Sarah into cooperating, threatening her with violence if she refuses. During one of these visits, Sarah begins to suspect Tito may have knowledge about Stephen’s murder. Tito remarks that Stephen was involved in the drug trade—a claim Sarah dismisses, fueling speculation that Stephen’s death could be gang-related. Tito’s presence and threats push Sarah further into desperation, and she starts questioning her next steps.

A critical turn occurs when Sarah accidentally leaves a stash compartment open, and Ben, curious and distressed, finds the drugs. Unable to control the situation, she tries to clean up Ben after he ingests some cocaine. The situation escalates when Tito arrives unexpectedly. Despite her attempts to explain herself, Tito becomes aggressive, trying to assault Sarah. She fights back by hitting him with a vibrator, and when he continues to attack her, she grabs a knife in a reflexive act of self-defense, stabbing Tito multiple times until he bleeds out on the floor. The police arrive later, but their interference is dismissive, focusing on a perceived disturbance and probing Sarah about her connection to gang activity regarding Stephen’s murder. Frustrated, Sarah dismisses their questions and returns to dealing with Tito’s body.

Meanwhile, the criminal gang’s boss, Leo Miller, played by Edward Hogg, learns Tito stole from him. In a ruthless display of power, Leo and his gang violently raid Tito’s apartment, injuring his roommates without mercy. As Sarah attempts to move forward, she enlists the help of her doctor, Dr. Reid, played by Rafaela Dias, to care for Ben. She becomes increasingly paranoid and distressed, convinced that she is being watched and that her actions, especially after the violent confrontation, have put her and her children in danger.

Sarah’s life takes a darker turn when Leo and his associates locate her. They issue threats and confront her once they discover Tito’s fate. Sarah, feeling trapped and desperate, agrees to meet Leo later that night and promises to bring him Tito’s head. She leaves her children with her mother Alice, who reassures her with candid honesty about her own past and her love for Sarah.

The meeting with Leo results in a tense confrontation at a club, where Sarah, played by [Sarah Bolger], arrives armed with Tito’s severed head, demanding they leave her and her family alone. As negotiations break down, she pulls out Tito’s gun and shoots Leo’s gang members before turning her weapon on Leo himself. In a shocking act of revenge, Sarah shoots Leo twice in the head, killing him, and then viciously bashes another thug with a hammer. The violent killings are later dismissed by authorities as gang-related murders, but for Sarah, they are acts of survival against the chaos that has engulfed her life.

In the aftermath, Sarah seeks safety and peace for her family. She takes her children shopping at a local store, feeling hopeful yet vigilant. As she tries to protect herself from new threats, she is approached again by a store employee, but this time she confidently threatens him, warning her kids will tell the manager if he tries anything inappropriate. The film closes on Sarah and her children moving forward, carrying the scars of their ordeal but with a renewed sense of resilience amidst the ongoing darkness.
