Jessy is the eldest daughter in a modest family in Poovaranmala, a rural part of Wayanad. Her mother Mary works as a seamstress while Jessy helps with chores and embroidery after leaving her studies. The family’s livelihood depends on farming and small trades, setting the stage for their simple, hardworking life.

Jessy dials a wrong number to confirm blouse measurements and ends up speaking with Vishnu, an auto rickshaw driver from Kozhikode. They begin communicating regularly without ever meeting face to face. Their relationship develops through conversations, growing closer despite the distance.

Vishnu is introduced as a helpful man who lives with two sisters and often assists families with a sick mother. His life in Kozhikode contrasts with Jessy’s modest rural world, highlighting the different paths they navigate. The audience learns who he is through these glimpses.

Jessy and Vishnu decide to meet during Jessy's church festival, but Vishnu must tend to his ailing mother and cannot attend. They continue to talk daily, keeping their bond alive across the distance. The festival remains a recurring dream rather than a concrete meeting.

Jessy receives a marriage proposal from Benny, who runs a textile shop. Benny's mother is unimpressed by Jessy and her family's modest home, opposing the match outright. The engagement news begins to strain Jessy’s life at home.

Vishnu tells Jessy that life is hard and she might be better off with Benny, advising her to stay calm about the engagement. Their conversations continue, deepening the emotional stakes of their relationship. The warning reveals the tension between duty and desire.

Benny insists on marrying Jessy despite his mother’s opposition and seeks help from a priest. The priest encourages him to pursue his chosen course, effectively supporting the engagement. This intensifies the family tension around the arranged union.

Jessy informs Vishnu that her engagement is confirmed and asks whether he can come to her hometown. He worries that someone who knows her might see them together, highlighting the risk of their relationship becoming public knowledge.

When her family goes to invite relatives to the engagement, Jessy seizes the opportunity to travel alone to Kozhikode to seek Vishnu. The journey marks a turning point as the two prepare to meet in person. The anticipation is tempered by the uncertainties of their plan.

In Kozhikode, Vishnu's phone is stolen during a scuffle. Roy retrieves the phone from the thief and meets Jessy, who, having never met Vishnu, mistakes Roy for him. The confusion creates a fragile moment of mistaken connection.

Vishnu finally locates Jessy and clears the initial misunderstanding with Roy. The couple begins to spend time together, touring the city, while Roy casually follows them, adding an undercurrent of risk to their growing relationship.

Roy confronts the lovers in a park, and Vishnu leaves with Jessy to a lodge to sort their clothes. The lodge owner, an acquaintance of Vishnu, arrives with questions about their plans and asks for pictures of Jessy, revealing the danger of being watched.

Vishnu returns to a wary Jessy who suspects something is off. The owner hints at financial trouble tied to transporting Jessy and pressures Vishnu to produce pictures, escalating the peril surrounding their affair.

A confrontation erupts as Roy tracks them; he subdues Vishnu and rescues Jessy. At the same time, police arrest Vishnu's accomplices at his home, bringing the dangerous situation to a head and ending the immediate threat.

Jessy, shaken by the events, seeks solace with Roy’s help, asking him to show her the sea to wash away her sorrow. The film concludes with Jessy visiting the small Mother Mary chapel near her home, lighting a candle as a sign of quiet endurance.
