During a celebration of the jungle spirit Deva hosted by Rajah Singh, young Suresh vanishes into the forest. Prema pleads to search for him, but officials warn the jungle is too dangerous for a child. The disappearance sets in motion the legend of the forest boy and his future bond with its creatures.

Suresh saved by Bono and Mantoo; Deva grants animal communication

Suresh is rescued from Sabre the Leopard by Bono the elephant and Mantoo the Monkey. Deva grants him the ability to understand and communicate with animals for his good heart. He is named Manling and raised among the forest creatures to learn the jungle law.

Sabre hunted on the Night of Deva; a vow is made

Bono informs the animals that Sabre hunted on the Night of Deva and must be brought to justice. Sabre vows to challenge the boy when he is old enough to defend himself, setting up a looming conflict.

Nāga's judgment at the palace

At Rajah Singh's Alter Room, Hook and Rajah Singh advance with Anna. Krishna and Mantoo arrive and confront them. Nāga emerges, deems Hook unworthy, and devours him. Rajah Singh is turned into a pig for greed, as Nāga turns its attention to Krishna and Anna.

Nāga's reward and Krishna's vow

Nāga declares Krishna and Anna worthy of its gift for their self-sacrifice. Krishna protects Anna by asking Nāga not to harm her, and Nāga agrees before returning to statue form. It instructions Krishna to hide the statue and scroll somewhere safe.
