Jungle Moon Men

John Weissmuller is hired by archaeologist Ellen Marsten to traverse the African jungle of Baku in hopes of rescuing Marro. He agrees to undertake the dangerous expedition and prepares for the journey. The team sets off toward the Moon Men’s domain in the wilds.

Marsten’s friend Bob Prentice joins the mission, enlarging the group. Together they push deeper into the Baku jungle in search of Marro. The party continues their dangerous trek toward the Moon Men’s realm.

The team finds Marro and urges him to escape the jungle perimeter. Marro dies the moment he steps outside the boundary, cutting short their rescue.

During interrogation with a pygmy named Damu, Weissmuller learns Marro was fed a voodoo potion designed to kill him when he tried to flee Baku. The revelation underscores the Moon Men’s cruel methods. The danger becomes personal and immediate for the rescuers.

The Moon Men overtake the team and take them captive. The night tightens around the escape plan as hope dwindles. The captors separate the group and move toward Oma’s temple.

Prentice is chosen to assume Marro's position among Oma’s circle, while Weissmuller and Marsten are escorted toward Oma’s temple. The circle’s dynamics shift as the group nears their final destination. The temple looms with its treasure hoard as a tempting lure.

Inside Oma’s temple, Santo and Max confront Weissmuller and force him to lead them deeper into the temple. They meet Oma and discover a trove of precious stones in the building. Tension rises as loyalty and danger intertwine within the sacred space.

Weissmuller sacrifices himself to allow the others to escape from Baku’s clutches. He asks Prentice to contact the police from the mainland once they reach civilization. His act seals the fate of the rescue plan but saves his companions.

Santo pockets a large number of jewels and tries to flee, but the Moon Men intervene and release a pride of lions. Santo and Max are killed while the rest manage to escape with their lives and the jewels.

With little time left, Oma reveals a fast exit route from Baku, but she crumbles into fine dust when dragged into the sunny open. Her immortality proves vulnerable to sunlight, fulfilling a cruel irony.

Back on the mainland, Prentice laments the lack of evidence to prove Baku’s existence. The expedition ends with a lingering sense of mystery and unresolved legends.

Weissmuller’s pet chimpanzee Kimba is shown with a diamond pendant, hinting that some treasure survived beyond Baku. The scene provides a final, tangible remnant of the perilous journey. The ending leaves a note of unresolved mystery about Baku itself.
