In 1556, Don Aguirre commands Spanish conquistadors on a dangerous expedition into South America. His motivation is the discovery of the mythical Lágrimas De Cristal Tree, which he hopes will save his ailing daughter.

As Aguirre's men suffer from the harsh conditions of their journey, the Puka Michuna tribe uses the tree's miraculous flowers to heal the wounded soldiers. This act of kindness highlights the tribe's deep knowledge of the land and its resources.

Refusing to divulge the tree's location, the tribe's chief becomes a target of Aguirre's wrath. In a brutal display of power, Aguirre kills the chief and sets the village ablaze, igniting a curse that will haunt the conquistadors.

As he dies, the chief curses Aguirre and his men, condemning them to live eternally along the Amazon River. This curse ties them forever to the location of their treachery, preventing them from finding peace.

Fast forward to 1916, Dr. Lily Houghton presents her research on Tears of the Moon to the Royal Society in London. She hopes to leverage her findings to transform medicine and assist the British War Effort.

Lily and her brother, MacGregor, seek permission to study an arrowhead linked to the legendary tree. However, their request is denied, dismissing the tree as a myth and overlooking Lily due to her gender.

Undeterred by the rejection, Lily steals the arrowhead, believing it holds the key to uncovering the tree's secrets. Her escape from Prince Joachim's clutches showcases her determination and resourcefulness.

Upon arriving in the First Brazilian Republic, Lily and MacGregor search for a reliable guide to navigate the Amazon. Their meeting with Frank Wolff, a cynical steamboat captain, kickstarts their adventure.

After some negotiation, Lily strikes a deal with Frank for their expedition down the Amazon. Despite his initial hesitations, Frank lowers his price, intrigued by the legendary arrowhead around Lily's neck.

As their journey begins, the trio faces immediate danger from Joachim's submarine. This event sets the tone for their perilous adventure, filled with various threats and challenges they must overcome.

They encounter the Puka Michuna tribe led by Trader Sam, who reveals essential secrets regarding the arrowhead and the tree. This pivotal moment deepens Lily's understanding of the tree's significance and its blooming cycle.

Meanwhile, Joachim resurrects the long-lost conquistadors, promising them flowers in exchange for their loyalty. This act of desperation underscores the intertwined fates of all characters in the story.

The climax occurs at La Luna Rota Waterfall where the sought-after tree is finally found. A fierce confrontation ensues, testing alliances and revealing true intentions among all involved.

In a moment of true love and sacrifice, Lily gives up the magical flower to free Frank from his curse. This act not only solidifies their bond but also alters the course of their lives forever.

Back in Britain, Lily achieves recognition as a full professor at the University of Cambridge. Together with Frank, they embark on new adventures, exploring London and continuing their quest for knowledge.
