Johnny Handsome

Johnny Handsome, a petty criminal known for his deformed appearance, constantly struggles with his place in the world. Despite his physical appearance, he possesses a remarkable talent for observation and planning, which he intends to use for his benefit.

Johnny partners with his friends Sunny Boyd and Rafe Garrett to execute a heist at a rare coin shop. They meticulously prepare for the operation, hoping it will secure their future and prove Johnny’s worth beyond his appearance.

During the heist, things take a tragic turn when Rafe and Sunny betray Johnny. This double-cross leaves Johnny as the only survivor, and he faces the harsh reality of being abandoned by those he trusted.

After the heist fails, Johnny is sentenced to prison. He realizes that this second felony could make him a 'three-time loser,' indicating a bleak future filled with long prison terms and lost opportunities.

While serving time, Johnny endures a brutal attack from fellow inmates. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers within prison walls and the harsh realities of his life as a convict.

After recovering in the hospital, Johnny meets Lt. A.Z. Drones, who reveals that Rafe had orchestrated a hit on him. Drones urges Johnny to assist the police in taking down Rafe and Sunny in order to get justice for the betrayal.

In the hospital, Johnny also meets Dr. Steven Fisher, who presents the possibility of reconstructive surgery to fix Johnny's cleft palate and change his appearance. Dr. Fisher believes this could provide Johnny with a second chance at life, but Drones remains doubtful.

Despite Drones' skepticism about whether surgery can change a person’s character, Johnny decides to go through with the procedure. He hopes that a new look will allow him to redefine himself and escape his past.

After the surgery, Johnny reenters society with the condition of ongoing psychological evaluation by Dr. Fisher. He manages to find a job in construction, which marks the beginning of his fresh chapter.

While working, Johnny encounters Donna McCarty, who sees his potential beyond his foggy past. However, struggling with the emotions tied to his new identity and past betrayals, he inadvertently pushes her away.

As Johnny attempts to adapt to his new life, he formulates a plan for revenge against Rafe and Sunny. He maneuvers to propose a new heist, intending to rob the construction site without exposing his true motives.
