Kannan Prashanth is a young music shop employee with a simple dream: to find a girl who wears gold anklets. He pleads his innocence, insisting he only took money to repair and fix their instruments—money the rival troupe paid to upgrade the gear for the competition. In a moment of vulnerability, Kannan lends Gayathri one of the love poems he wrote for her, and she decides to sing it in the contest. Back at home, Rudramurthy [Nassar] works at a registrar’s office and devotes himself to preventing love marriages that often lack parental consent. He has witnessed marriages collapse under pressure and refuses to support them, a stance that creates friction within Kannan’s world. His rigid beliefs collide with the emotional realities of Kannan’s romance with Gayathri, intensified by an atmosphere of family debt and social expectations. On the other side, Gayathri’s family carries its own heavy burden. Her father—stricken and deeply remorseful after a painful incident in the past—struggles with the idea of letting his daughter marry someone the family did not fully approve.

To bridge the gap between two families, Kannan and Gayathri devise a daring plan: they will visit each other’s homes to earn permission, adopting disguises to test the waters. Gayathri travels to Kannan’s home posing as the long-lost daughter of a troublesome neighbor, while Kannan pretends to be a vagabond to reach Gayathri’s house and prove his love. Seeking to heal old wounds, Kannan visits the family of the departed vocalist and pleads for forgiveness, asking them to open their hearts to the possibility of reconciliation. They respond, and a new proposal arises: the mother of the vocalist’s family suggests a marriage alliance between her son Sivabalan and Gayathri, aligning two different generations and easing the burden of guilt that has shadowed Vengudu for years. When Vengudu learns of this, he is initially hesitant, but the idea of uniting two loving hearts—accompanied by a chance to lift a heavy past—appeals to him. He agrees, hoping this arrangement will bring relief to his own guilt and restore balance in Gayathri’s life.

On the wedding day, a pivotal moment arrives. Sivabalan takes the stage and delivers a performance of the love song that Kannan had written for Gayathri and that Gayathri herself sang during the Bangalore contest. The moment crystallizes the truth for Gayathri: the song she cherished was born from Kannan’s heart, and his name is tied to the music that bound them together.
