As Wen Jiajia’s pregnancy begins to advance, she becomes ensnared in a complex web of relationships. Trapped between her boyfriend, a corrupt businessman who is already entangled with another woman, and the looming uncertainties surrounding her unborn child’s future in China, she faces a perilous path ahead. In a desperate bid for freedom, she escapes to Seattle, where the bustling international airport represents a gateway to a new chapter in her life.
Upon her arrival in Seattle, she encounters Frank, a taxi driver with a hidden past as a doctor. Frank grapples with his own challenges, trying to mend his fractured relationships with his estranged daughter and ex-wife, a powerful executive planning to move to the United States.
As Jiajia begins to navigate the unfamiliar yet inviting environment of Seattle’s maternity center, she forges connections with other women, including Frank’s daughter. Frank’s personal saga deeply resonates with Jiajia, evoking memories of her father’s fight for health and the renowned cardiologist that he once was.
