Nachiappan runs a successful Indian American restaurant in Los Angeles, and his two twin sons Viswanathan (Visu) and Ramamoorthy (Ramu) help out after long days as medical students. They balance medicine with kitchen duties alongside their chief cook, Juno. The close-knit family dynamics establish the groundwork for love, ambition, and loyalty in a bustling city.

One evening, Visu and Ramu encounter a Tamil family from Chennai facing immigration trouble at the airport. Visu steps in to help Madhumitha (Madhu), her brother Madhesh, and their grandmother Krishnaveni, learning that Krishnaveni needs brain surgery. This act of kindness binds the families together and foreshadows the convergence of their lives in America.

Krishnaveni is admitted to a hospital where Visu works as a resident doctor, and the surgery is performed. Visu quickly realizes the operation was conducted on the wrong side, leaving Krishnaveni paralyzed. He aggressively pushes for a corrective procedure and confronts the medical team about the error, setting off a chain of events that centers on accountability and justice.

A second surgery corrects the initial mistake, though it comes with a costly price tag. The hospital agrees to compensate the family to avoid a court battle, and in the wake of these events Madhu begins to fall for Visu. The medical drama blends with budding romance as the family’s fortunes begin to shift.

Krishnaveni decides to extend the family's stay in the US due to the growing romance between Visu and Madhu. Nachiappan objects to the match, insisting his sons should marry identical twins. A flash of the past begins to unfold, hinting at deeper family tensions.

A flashback reveals Nachiappan’s past with his conjoint twin Pechiappan and the tragedy that drove them apart. Pechiappan’s wife Sundarambal tortured Nachiappan’s pregnant wife Meiyaththa, leading to Meiyaththa’s death after giving birth to Visu and Ramu. Nachiappan ultimately leaves home with the twins to protect them from further harm.

Krishnaveni proposes a ruse: Madhu has an identical twin named Vaishnavi, raised separately, to explain why the twins’ marriage would be auspicious. The family travels to India to meet this supposed sister, and Madhu is asked to pose as Vaishnavi, while Ramu falls for the illusion and for Madhu's alter ego. The lie is designed to smooth over the conflict between the families.

Nachiappan impersonates Pechiappan and travels to Karaikudi to salvage Pechiappan's failing restaurant business. He uses his business acumen to stabilize the establishment and even reforms Sundarambal. In a twist, Pechiappan swaps places with Nachiappan and stays with Visu and Ramu, deepening the web of impersonations.

Madhu discovers that Vaishnavi does not exist and that her impersonation has hurt Visu and Ramu. Visu publicly confronts Madhu and Lakshmi about the deception, then exits Madhu’s house. Ramu pleads with their father to support Visu and Madhu’s marriage despite the lies.

Realizing the truth could derail the union, Nachiappan rushes to Chennai with Sundarambal to stop the wedding. They threaten to expose the deception, hoping to salvage the families’ original plans while preserving the Hastings of the future together.

It is revealed that Nachiappan and Pechiappan had swapped identities to bring the families back together. Sundarambal persuades Nachiappan to allow the marriage to proceed, arguing that Madhu’s Vaishnavi deception mirrors their own against the families. The bonds are re-stabilized as both sides agree to unite.

Visu and Madhu finally marry, uniting the families after a labyrinth of deception and revelation. At their reception, Madhesh entertains the guests with computer-generated special effects, signaling a playful and hopeful ending to the saga. The couple’s union closes the film with a sense of reconciliation and joy.
