The story takes place during contemporary elections in India, specifically the present day. The plot references political neglect spanning roughly 30 years and incorporates modern elements like Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and voter awareness campaigns.

The movie explores three major themes: Election & Manipulation (how power and elections can be exploited), Education & Empowerment (the role of education in uplifting marginalized communities), and Trust & Betrayal (the complex relationship between outsiders and tribal communities).

The Election & Manipulation theme explores how political power can distort truth during elections. The film shows how outsiders may exploit vulnerable tribal communities for personal gain, testing the ethical line between genuine service and manipulation when election stakes are involved.

The Education & Empowerment theme centers on Lachimi, an unofficial teacher in the tribe who dreams of continuing her own studies. Despite lacking formal education, she teaches children basic skills and helps raise voting awareness. The film presents education as a vehicle for empowerment in marginalized communities.

The Trust & Betrayal theme deals with the complicated relationship between outsiders and tribal communities. The collector's deception and Srinivas's manipulation test the tribe's faith in outside help. Sripada Srinivas is a humble government Telugu teacher appointed as an election officer and dispatched to Maredumilli. Initially appearing as a dutiful official helping villagers, he is later revealed to be the mastermind behind a conspiracy to pressure for a bridge and generate national attention. He develops romantic feelings for Lachimi and proposes marriage.

Lachimi is the tribe's unofficial teacher who dreams of continuing her studies. She teaches basic skills to children despite lacking formal schooling and helps raise awareness about voting. She is self-confident, respects teachers, and becomes romantically involved with Srinivas, accepting his marriage proposal.

Arjun Trivedi is the district collector who initially deceives the tribals by handing them fake approval papers for a bridge. After his betrayal is exposed, he begins to understand the tribe's problems and ultimately signs real bridge approval following a crisis. He is injured during the climactic events and taken into custody.

The bridge represents the decades of neglect and broken promises that the tribal community has faced. It becomes the central catalyst for the entire plot, with both genuine reformers and manipulative outsiders using the bridge demand to advance their own agendas. The bridge approval symbolizes tangible development and hope for the marginalized region.
