Invasion of the Body Snatchers

An otherworldly parasitic alien species escapes its dying home planet and lands on Earth. They arrive disguised as small seed pods adorned with pink blossoms, initiating their invasion of humanity.

Elizabeth Driscoll, a laboratory scientist, unwittingly brings one of the alien flower pods home. This decision sets off a chain of events that leads to a dire threat to humanity.

The next morning, Elizabeth discovers her boyfriend Geoffrey acting unusually cold and secretive after disposing of the shattered glass holding the flower pod. Concerned about this change, she fears that Geoffrey may no longer be the same person.

Panic-stricken, Elizabeth confides in her colleague Matthew Bennell about her fears regarding Geoffrey. He encourages her to seek advice from his psychiatrist friend, David Kibner, to address her concerns.

On their way to meet Kibner, Elizabeth and Matthew encounter a panicked man chased by a mob who warns them of an imminent danger. Following the crowd leads them to a shocking sight: the lifeless body of the man they had just seen.

At Kibner's book signing event, Matthew reunites with his friend Jack while Elizabeth meets Kibner. He dismisses her fears about Geoffrey's transformation, attributing such changes to personal issues, further unsettling Elizabeth.

Jack and his wife Nancy find a bizarre embryonic body resembling Jack at their mud bath spa. Disturbed, they call Matthew for help, hinting at the deeper horror linked to the alien pods.

Matthew arrives to find a near-complete replica of Elizabeth in her bedroom. In a desperate attempt, he rescues her just before the authorities arrive, only to find the duplicates have vanished.

Elizabeth, Matthew, Jack, and Nancy barricade themselves in Matthew's apartment after witnessing multiple doppelgängers. They ring Kibner for help, but he ends up leaving with a group of duplicates, raising suspicions about his loyalty.

As the group drifts off to sleep, they are horrified to see giant flower pods emerging in the garden, revealing that their replacements are beginning to hatch and replace them in the world.

Matthew manages to destroy his duplicate just in time, but soon they find themselves pursued by the fully-formed 'pod people'. Jack and Nancy make a brave sacrifice to allow Matthew and Elizabeth to escape.

At the health department, Matthew and Elizabeth take stimulants to oversleep and resist the alien threat. A tense standoff occurs with Kibner's duplicate revealing the aliens' plan to replace humanity.

They encounter Nancy, who cleverly pretends to be emotionless to blend in among the duplicates. However, Elizabeth's horrific discovery of a dog-human hybrid prompts a scream that exposes them.

As chaos ensues, Matthew and Elizabeth are separated from Nancy. Climbing aboard a truck filled with alien plants, Matthew realizes the danger and returns to confront the threat.

In a frantic moment, Matthew discovers Elizabeth has been replaced by a pod person. Enraged, he sets fire to the warehouse containing the alien pods, intent on destroying the invaders and saving humanity.
