Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

Zim had been absent for so long trying to exhaust Dib physically that he genuinely forgot what Phase Two actually entailed. When he contacted the Almighty Tallest for guidance, he realized his own memory lapse had created a critical gap in his operative plan, leaving him uncertain about his next move.

Zim's disappearance was initially framed as a strategic tactic to wear Dib down, but it inadvertently led to his own forgetting.

The Membracelet is a prototype device created by Professor Membrane designed to harness the positive energy of Earth's children. During the keynote address, Zim modified the device to hijack the presentation, causing the lights to go out, making Membrane disappear, and allowing Zim to seize control of the stage.

Professor Membrane's disappointment in Dib's belief in aliens earlier set the stage for his willingness to give Dib the device.

Clembrane is a failed clone of Professor Membrane created in the Membrane household. After Zim took control of the Membracelet distribution, Clembrane sided with Zim and imprisoned Dib and Gaz in their own home, serving as Zim's enforcer while the alien continued his scheme worldwide.

Professor Membrane's cloning experiments were referenced earlier in the film, establishing the existence of such a clone.

The Florpus is a rift in space-time capable of consuming planets and merging them with alternate realities. When Zim teleported Earth into the Irken Armada's flight path to force the Tallest to visit, the sudden cosmic displacement opened the Florpus, which began pulling Earth into its chaotic dimension.

Zim's reckless teleportation of an entire planet was the direct cause of the dimensional rift opening.

Dib and Gaz escaped their imprisonment by using a spaceship formerly belonging to Zim's Irken rival Tak. They then traveled to the intergalactic prison Moo-Ping 10 to free Professor Membrane, who had been abducted during Zim's keynote hijacking.

Tak's spaceship was established as a powerful vessel earlier in the narrative.

Professor Membrane was revealed to have robotic prosthetics when Dib and Gaz rescued him from Moo-Ping 10. The film doesn't extensively explain when or why he lost his original limbs, but this reveals he has been secretly augmenting himself with advanced technology.

The Irken Armada arrived at Earth intending to destroy both Zim and the planet, but instead flew directly into the Florpus rift that had opened due to Earth's teleportation. The Tallest were last seen suffering in an alternate reality, which Zim misinterpreted as pleased screaming.

The Tallest's decision to destroy Zim rather than negotiate directly led them straight into the dimensional disaster.

After learning the Irken Armada had no plans to invade Earth, Zim felt his mission was pointless. He orchestrated a scheme to teleport Earth directly into the Armada's flight path, forcing the Tallest to come to him and acknowledge his existence and accomplishment.

Zim's crisis of confidence stemmed from realizing his leaders had forgotten about Earth entirely.

Professor Membrane figured out how to reverse the Florpus effect and teleport Earth back to its original position in space. This occurred as the planet was colliding with alternate realities, saving humanity from being merged into the chaotic dimensional rift.

Membrane's genius intellect, established throughout the series, enabled him to solve the complex spatial problem.

At the very end, Zim reveals the 'real' goal of Phase Two was simply to steal one of the Membrane family's belongings. This absurdly petty objective, combined with his misinterpretation of the Tallest's suffering as praise, demonstrates classic Zim incompetence and miscommunication.

This revelation plays into Zim's established pattern of obsessive trivial pursuits over actual invasion success.

Earlier, GIR launched a pug into space for unclear comedic reasons, and at the film's conclusion, that same pug fell from orbit and flattened Zim. GIR then promptly launched another pug into space, establishing an absurd ongoing cycle.

GIR's random destructive behavior was established as a consistent character trait throughout the film.

Dib regained his physical fitness with help from his sister Gaz, who trained him after Zim's long absence had allowed Dib to become out of shape. This recovery was necessary for Dib to effectively confront Zim when he returned.

Zim's plan to exhaust Dib through absence inadvertently gave Dib time to rebuild his strength with familial support.
