Kimberly Jansen, a single mother in a small Canadian town, cuts her hand at a party and goes to the local hospital for routine treatment. There, Dr. Richard Darian drugs her and rapes her while she sleeps. When she reports the assault, the townsfolk and police—who deem her a tramp and trust the doctor—dismiss her claims, forcing her to battle a community that protects its own.
