Aspiring actor Sam and his botanist girlfriend Rylie arrive in rural New England to investigate a mysterious outbreak of a fungus known as 'sordico.' This start of their journey sets the stage for a series of unsettling events that follow.

While camping on a remote farm, Sam and Rylie face car trouble when their vehicle breaks down. They are forced to confront their vulnerable situation in an unfamiliar location.

Eldery farmer Eulis, claiming to own the land, insists that Sam and Rylie leave the premises. His strange demeanor hints at a deeper darkness lurking within the area.

Finding their car battery dead, Sam and Rylie decide to seek help at a nearby farmhouse. This search introduces them to unsettling characters that will complicate their predicament.

At the farmhouse, they meet Karen, an eccentric old woman, and her son Gunni, who exhibits bizarre behavior. Their oddities raise alarm bells for the couple as they wonder about their true nature.

Karen provides Sam and Rylie with peculiar food that clashes with their vegan diet. The bizarre conversations further contribute to the couple's growing unease about their stay.

After Karen's mechanic fails to arrive, she offers them space to sleep in the cellar. Sam leaves Rylie alone to indulge in food, leading to their separation as she investigates strange noises.

Sam returns to find Rylie missing, and after an attempt to call for help, he is ambushed by Karen and knocked unconscious. The couple’s fate begins to take a dark turn.

Sam and Rylie wake up restrained and discover that Karen and Eulis have become twisted cannibals due to the effects of sordico. Their horrific justification for their actions becomes evident.

In a desperate attempt to escape, Sam manages to convince Gunni to free him and Rylie. However, tragedy strikes when Gunni dies in a failed escape attempt, leaving the couple stranded.

Karen and Eulis recapture Sam and Rylie following their escape attempt. Rylie's fate takes a grim turn as she faces lobotomy, transforming her into a shadow of her former self.

As Rylie undergoes her transformation, Sam is left deteriorating in the basement. He is mutilated and loses his humanity while being forced into horrifying acts by Karen.

The film culminates in a twisted scene where Sam and a lobotomized Delilah are manipulated into unspeakable acts. The couple's initial aspirations are lost to their horrific reality.
