Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves

Wayne hatches a scheme to shrink the Tiki Man so the kids won't notice the oddities around the house. He and Gordon intend to use Szalinski Labs' shrinking device on the statue while the kids are distracted. But in a careless moment, a billiard ball left on the device triggers it, shrinking Wayne and Gordon instead of just the statue.

Patti discovers Mitch's potassium medicine is missing and calls to fetch it. She and Diane sneak back into the house, hoping to catch Wayne and Gordon off guard. A second billiard ball activates the machine, shrinking both women.

Jenny, Adam, and Mitch return home and assume they are alone for the evening, planning to invite friends over. They are oblivious to their parents' shrunken state and the growing chaos upstairs. The stage is set for the comic misadventures to come.

From the attic, the shrunk adults rig a way to descend into Adam's room using a fishing line and the Hot Wheels track. They overshoot their target, tumble down the laundry chute, and land in a clean load being delivered back upstairs.

The laundry is dumped back upstairs, and the four tumble out of the basket. They discover Adam and Mitch reading Sports Illustrated Kids, realizing Adam's interests may lie elsewhere from science. Wayne and Gordon begin to rethink their plans.

In Adam's room, the four shrunk adults encounter a cockroach. They lure it into a bug trap and defeat it, easing the tension of their precarious situation.

Patti and Diane locate Mitch's medicine but must reach the counter, where a daddy long-legs is tangled in a web. Patti frees the bug and they use its silk to climb onto the counter to help Mitch.

Wayne and Gordon rewire the stereo to function as a microphone, turning the room into a makeshift broadcast. A group of Jenny's friends crash the party, and Ricky King steals a kiss from Jenny. Jenny rejects him for not asking permission, earning Patti's respect.

Mitch weakens further without his medicine and faints. Adam improvises by feeding him potassium-rich bananas, which helps him recover enough to speak and acknowledge his mother.

Wayne uses the improvised microphone to amplify Gordon's voice and pretends to be the voice of God, ordering Ricky and the others to leave. The kids realize their parents are shrunk and the deception becomes clear.

In the attic, the kids debate whether to keep their parents shrunk or unshrunk. They decide to unshrink them and give them a chance to rethink their parenting, while Patti praises Jenny for standing up for Mitch and Wayne agrees to support Adam's baseball dream, letting Gordon take over Szalinski Labs.

Normal life returns: Adam finishes baseball camp and Wayne gains a new respect for the sport. The Tiki Man is moved to the backyard and enlarged to twice the height of the house, symbolizing the family's renewed balance.
