Hello, Dolly!

On a bright summer morning in the 1890s, Dolly Levi arrives in New York City. The residents are excited about her presence, as she is known to be a charming matchmaker with a firm grip on social dynamics.

Dolly is tasked with arranging the second marriage of Mr. Horace Vandergelder, an affluent but cantankerous man. As a self-proclaimed 'half-a-millionaire,' he is determined yet skeptical of the idea of remarrying, finding it a foolhardy endeavor.

Upon her arrival, Dolly swiftly begins to eliminate any competition for Vandergelder’s affections. Notably, she aims to edge out Mrs. Irene Molloy, a young widow whom she recently introduced to Vandergelder.

Dolly spins an elaborate tale about a wealthy heiress, Ernestina Semple, to pique Vandergelder's interest. She convinces him to meet this prospective match in the afternoon during the local 14th Street Association Parade.
