Haunted Mansion

Gigi and her husband Fai move into the family mansion in Yuen Long, hoping to settle in with Gigi's mother and sister Fan. The move stirs echoes of the past as the house's creaks and unfamiliar rooms hint at secrets hidden in the estate.

The feng shui professor Tin Bo Chiu visits and explains the mansion sits at an unlucky intersection of yin and yang, making it prone to hauntings. He warns that the protective charms are fading and that they should leave within seven days or face trouble. Gigi and Fai ignore his warning.

Strange phenomena begin to occur as night falls. Gigi's mother, though senile by day, appears normal and converses with Gigi at night, hinting at otherworldly activity. The phone rings repeatedly with no answer, and only Gigi seems to hear it.

Ghosts kidnap Fai's spirit and refuse to release him until he wins a rigged game of mahjong, effectively possessing his body in the process. The eerie test creates a sense of helplessness as Gigi and Fan scramble for a way to break the hold.

A second ghost possesses Fan, amplifying the haunting and spreading fear through the household. The family struggles to understand why these possessions are happening and who is behind them.

A businessman arrives to pressure the family to sell the land, but they refuse. He then sends two thugs to burn the mansion, yet the would-be arsonists are scared off by visible ghosts.

The businessman is mysteriously strangled to death, and his wife is then assaulted by an unseen force, signaling the escalating danger haunting the property. The violent events heighten the sense that a vengeful power is at work.

Gigi seeks help from her boss Uncle Ming, who lends her a pair of magic glasses that reveal Fai and Fan are possessed. The glasses provide the first concrete proof of the hauntings and give the family a starting point for confronting the spirits.

Tin Bo Chiu explains that the non-senile 'mother' Gigi saw is actually her mother's spirit, able to leave a body temporarily and unaffected by her mental state. This revelation reframes the hauntings as more than simple poltergeist activity.

As a plan to counter the hauntings, they summon her mother's spirit from within the living to seek help. The spirit reveals that the paranormal events are linked to the vengeful ghost of Gigi's aborted daughter, who has been manipulating other ghosts.

With the guidance of her mother's spirit and support from Uncle Ming, Gigi frees Fai and Fan from possession and confronts the vengeful daughter's ghost. The daughter's ghost forgives Gigi for the abortion, allowing a path to reconciliation.

Gigi and Fai decide to have another child, marking a hopeful ending after the hauntings and the reconciliation. The family believes they can move forward with peace restored in the house and in their lives.
