When up‑and‑coming senator Nick Rast learns his young son has terminal leukemia, an enigmatic faith healer named Gregory Wolfe arrives and seemingly cures the boy. As Wolfe’s influence grows, Rast’s wife Sandy becomes romantically drawn to him, sparking a clash with the powerful backers of Rast’s political rise, embodied by the elderly, ruthless Doc Wheelan, who opposes the unfolding drama.
