Alex leaves home to study in Toronto and begins to look for extra money to support himself. He slides into criminal activity to supplement his income, marking the start of his downfall.

Alex teams with Sye to dabble in lost and stolen credit cards and fake transactions. Their schemes grow bolder as they test the waters of the black market, building cash flow at the expense of others.

Alex is caught trying to defraud the International Bank of Canada, triggering security alarms. He makes a deal with Curtis, the bank's Head of Security, to fix vulnerabilities in exchange for leniency, tying him further to cybercrime.

News of the hack leaks onto the Dark Web, earning praise from anonymous peers. Zed, the masked head of the Dark Web, takes notice of the audacious in-person hack and begins tracking Alex.

Alex meets Kira, a young hacker who expands their capabilities. The trio explores new methods like printing their own cards and using Bitcoin, raising the stakes and tensions within the group.

Reluctant to stay in their current mode of operation, Sye and Kira push for relocation to Hong Kong, where their skills align with the local market. The move marks a turning point for their criminal enterprise.

During a major deal, Sye questions the buyers’ legitimacy, leading to a heated argument and a gun fired into the air. The confrontation ends with their deal collapsing and the group deciding to relocate again.

A night out in Hong Kong ends with Sye and Alex jailed after a fight, while Kira bails them out and offers an uneasy apology. The incident strains trust within the trio and foreshadows heavier consequences.

Alex and Kira rob multiple ATMs across Hong Kong, withdrawing around $2.3 million and leaving Dark Web calling cards after each withdrawal. Kira contemplates retirement, while Alex pushes to keep expanding the operation, drawing Zed’s attention.

Zed invites them to a high-stakes mission to crash the stock market, warning that failure would threaten their families. Sye returns to Hong Kong for the assignment but is killed by Colombian bankers' men before it’s complete; Alex and Kira press on with Zed’s plan.

The trio advances the plan to crash the stock market by publishing pre-written articles online; the claimed assassination of the Federal Reserve Chairman triggers a panic. It soon becomes clear the assassination was faked, revealing the depth of Zed's manipulation.

Alex is abducted, drugged, and held in an abandoned office before regaining consciousness. He eventually learns of Zed's arrest and Kira’s death, and that his own card triggered a police pickup. After two years in jail, a Royal Pardon frees him, where Kira reveals she has been working with the FBI to catch Zed, and they drive off together.
