Geng: The Adventure Begins

The film opens with Badrol and Lim watching a news report about the sudden disappearances of durians in Kampung Durian Runtuh. A reporter interviews Tok Dalang about the previous night, when a durian fell but something ate it and left the shell clean. The locals dub the culprit a durian ghost, heightening fear in the village.

Tok Dalang and the villagers recount the eerie night when a mysterious eater struck, leaving no trace beside chewed fruit. The story solidifies the belief in a durian ghost that roams after dark. Badrol remains skeptical but curious about the truth behind the legend.

Despite his skepticism, Badrol resolves to go to the village to uncover what is behind the durian mystery and decides to bring Lim along. The pair prepare for their journey, driven by curiosity and a sense of duty to their families. Their decision sets the story in motion.

Their bus ride ends when the tire punctures, forcing Badrol and Lim to walk the remaining five kilometers to Kampung Durian Runtuh. They trade grumbles for determination as they near the village and its mysteries. The journey foreshadows the challenges ahead.

A truck driver named Mr. Singh stops to give them a ride, despite his boss Pak Mail’s objections. Along the way, the two hear hints about an abandoned house tied to the durian mystery. The ride introduces new characters and a hint of danger.

Singh and Pak Mail drop Badrol and Lim at a village shop where Opah, Kak Ros, Upin and Ipin’s family are present. Sally’s impatience and Opah’s sewing talk contrast with the rising tension of the mystery. The atmosphere blends warmth and unease as the plot threads pull together.

Badrol and Lim ask Uncle Muthu for directions to Tok Dalang’s house, but his directions are unclear. They enlist Upin and Ipin to lead them, while Kak Ros follows to keep an eye on things. The group begins to feel the village’s curious gaze on their arrival.

Badrol and Lim reunite with Tok Dalang, who urges caution but supports exploring the orchard area. The group later participates in a lively motorcycle race, which ends with Rajoo losing his radio and his one-horned cow Sapy tumbling into the water. The mishap injects comedy into pressing suspense.

That night, Tok Dalang recounts the legend of the durian ghost, and the group contemplates what is real versus superstition. Lim remains skeptical while Badrol stays focused on the investigation. The talk deepens the village’s folklore as the group prepares for the next day.

The next day they reach the durian orchard aboard Rajoo’s wagon and encounter a fox-like creature named Oopet. Kak Ros, Badrol, Lim, Upin and Ipin’s group forms a makeshift gang as they try to understand this new presence. They decide to camp near the orchard to keep watch.

Oopet reveals that he has been eating the durians, explaining his hunger and the mystery behind the missing fruit. He asks Rajoo to find his mother, hinting at a protective bond. Badrol and Lim witness the emotional pull of the forest creatures and the danger from humans who would exploit them.

Badrol and Lim are kidnapped by Uncle Singh, who is disguised as a monster, and taken to a cabin where Pak Mail schemes to haunt the orchard. Rajoo sneaks through to uncover the plan and warn the others. The group's unity is tested as they race to save their friends.

Badrol and Lim are rescued, and Oopet’s mother attacks Pak Mail and Uncle Singh to protect her son. The group escapes the cabin only to be pursued back toward the cave as danger closes in. The mythical threat and human greed collide in the perilous pursuit.

The group says goodbye to Oopet as Tok Dalang, Opah and Muthu watch with relief and concern. They confront Abang Salleh, who is suspected of following Mr. Singh’s and Pak Mail’s plans. Lim hands Rajoo his CD player and declares the kids a 'gang' alongside Upin, Ipin, Badrol and Kak Ros.

In a mid-credits scene, Pak Mail and Mr. Singh wander through Oopet’s world, chased by a creature resembling Oopet’s mother. The eerie coda hints that the durian mystery is far from over and that bonds between humans and forest creatures endure beyond the village.
