Karuna and Aadhi are close childhood friends who grow up in Kombai, Theni under the care of Karuna's grandmother Sellayee. Sokkan, an orphan, saves Karuna from danger and is taken in by Karuna, forming a trio loyal to each other. The boys grow up under the shadow of the Kombai Amman temple's trustee system, watched over by Sellayee.

After Sellayee dies, Nagaraj tries to seize control of the temple committee, but Sokkan is installed as the temple head with strong support from Aadhi and Karuna. The trio consolidates their influence over Kombai Amman temple and its leadership. The community watches as the temple’s fortunes intensify around their rule.

Thangapandi plots to usurp unclaimed land worth ₹330 crores near Chennai, learning that the land actually belongs to the Kombai Amman temple. Nagaraj pushes to control the temple committee to aid the plan, stoking tension over the temple’s future. The scheme foreshadows a larger clash of interests around the sacred site.

Thangapandi presses Inspector Muthuvel into helping Nagaraj, while Vairavel, embittered over an arranged marriage to Parveen, stirs trouble between Aadhi and Karuna. Greed and political betrayal threaten the temple leadership and the town’s stability.

Fake jewels are discovered in the temple jewellery box, casting suspicion on Karuna. Aadhi hands Karuna over to the police, planning to bail him out with his own wealth, but Nagaraj and Vairavel step in by presenting the real jewels to complicate the case.

On the temple festival day, an attack on the jewellery van is thwarted by Aadhi’s intervention. In the resulting clash, Karuna feigns involvement while Sokkan, possessed by a divine force, slices off Vairavel’s hand and saves Aadhi from the ambush.

Realizing he cannot claim the temple deed while Aadhi is alive, Karuna takes Sokkan to Kodaikanal and then returns with Nagaraj and his henchmen to finish off Aadhi. The plan deepens the rift between Karuna and the rest of the circle over the bond and the land.

Aadhi’s wife Katyayini advocates handing over the bond to fund Kombai’s development works; Aadhi agrees, but Karuna and Vairavel brutally kill him. The act consolidates Karuna’s grip on power and seals Aadhi’s fate.

Sokkan follows Karuna to Aadhi’s house for lunch and discovers Aadhi dead, choosing not to betray Karuna due to lifelong loyalty. Karuna claims the killing was self-defence, and Katyayini’s attempts to find witnesses fail.

Aadhi’s son Samaran seeks to avenge his father, but Sokkan protects him and confronts Nagaraj’s circle. Sokkan ultimately kills Nagaraj and surrenders to the police, with the case spiraling into a web of loyalties and betrayals.

A business partner reveals Karuna’s role in Sellayee’s death, including recordings of Karuna’s plan to poison Sellayee’s toddy. The videos are shown to Aadhi, whose questioning escalates into the tragedy that followed.

Sokkan escapes Karuna’s pursuit and tracks him to the brick kiln where Vinnarasi, Katyayini, and Samaran are at risk. Sokkan fights back, kills Karuna, and saves them, bringing a violent end to Karuna’s reign.

Muthuvel files a detailed report and resigns; a senior officer hints that Sokkan could be punished if convicted but the law ultimately allows his release. Sokkan reunites with Vinnarasi, while Thangapandi is fatally injured in a road accident in the end credits.
