Fury of the Congo

Jungle Jim spots a plane diving toward the river and dives into the water to rescue the injured pilot. He pulls Ronald Cameron from the deep waters and brings him to safety. Cameron reveals that he is searching for missing biochemistry professor Dunham at the request of the University of Cairo.

Cameron tells Jim that he is searching for missing biochemistry professor Dunham, at the University of Cairo's request. Dunham was last seen venturing into the jungle in search of the beast known as the Okongo.

From locals they learn about the Okongo, a revered creature of Congo's jungle, half-antelope and half-zebra. Its glands are rumored to contain a rare drug, making the Okongo a target for hunters and researchers alike.

They meet tribal chief Leta, who explains that Dunham and all the male Okongo have been kidnapped by hunters seeking the drug. Jim, Leta, and Cameron resolve to confront the hunters and rescue the captive Okongo.

The trio makes their way to the hunters' hideout to halt their sinister plans and rescue the captive Okongo. They brace for a dangerous confrontation and prepare to free Dunham.

Leta frees the captured Okongo; the beast attacks and kills one hunter. A scuffle ensues and Dunham smashes all the bottles of the extracted drug, sabotaging the hunters' operation.

They flee the hideout into the desert, facing a sandstorm that tests their resolve. Jungle Jim fights a gigantic desert spider as they push forward toward safety.

Dunham is shot during the escape and is left in Cameron and Leta's care. The professor's life hangs in the balance while his rescuers struggle to keep him alive.

Dunham recognises Cameron as the leader of the hunters, but it is too late; Cameron and his henchmen capture them all. The group finds itself betrayed and imprisoned by the man they had trusted.

Jim is commanded to bring the hunters to the main herd of Okongos. This forced march sets the stage for a final confrontation with the tribes and the hunters.

When they reach the herd, the hunters are attacked by the armed wives of the male natives and the Okongos. Cameron escapes but falls from a cliff and dies.

Leta and the natives celebrate their victory, and Jungle Jim and Dunham make their leave from the jungle. The adventure ends with them departing as the Okongo house its secrets back to balance.
