Food of the Gods II

Dr. Kate Travis calls Neil to inform him that Bobby's growth has accelerated after receiving her experimental serum. Bobby has grown larger than a full-grown adult and become violently unstable. Neil realizes the urgency and prepares to search for an antidote back at his university lab.

Neil takes a sample of the serum back to his lab at the university science complex. He begins testing and experiments to develop an antidote to curb the monstrous growth. The stakes rise as time runs short.

Animal-rights activists led by Mark Hales, with Neil's girlfriend Alex Reed, protest Prof. Edmund Delhurst's research on campus. They argue the work is cruel and question the claimed cancer focus. The controversy sets the stage for escalating tensions.

During the protest, the activists break into the complex to trash Delhurst's lab. In the chaos, they accidentally release the giant rats. The creatures immediately begin to pose a deadly threat to everyone nearby.

The giant rats kill Mark Hales and escape into the campus utility tunnels. The campus is thrown into confusion as investigators try to contain the outbreak. The immediate danger shifts from the lab to the campus grounds.

Lieutenant Weizel does not fully believe the activists' statements despite Neil corroborating the serum. Dean White hires a pair of exterminators to handle what he assumes are ordinary rats. Tensions rise as authorities scramble to respond.

The giant rats kill several people, including Louis, an exterminator. Surviving activists Al and Angie manage to escape, while Delhurst's janitor Zeke is attacked. Jacques, another exterminator, fights back and burns one rat in a desperate attempt to stop the outbreak.

A night watchman is killed off-screen by the rats. Alex discovers a workman dead, and two more men killed in a car, underscoring the escalating danger. The police begin assembling the fragments of the story.

Despite growing evidence of the threat, Dean White remains skeptical and refuses to shut down the campus because of the upcoming grand opening of the university's new sports complex. The delay endangers more people.

Joshua, Neil's assistant, falls victim to the rats. In a fit of desperation, Neil confronts Dean White and is fired from the university. The loss of access complicates Neil's search for a solution.

Delhurst steals the serum and tests it first on Neil's pet rat Louise, then on cancer cells. He accidentally contaminates himself with treated cells and dies within minutes as his body swells with tumors. The antidote race accelerates.

Neil returns to the lab to retrieve the antidote he has created. He tests it by destroying Delhurst's transformed corpse, confirming the antidote has a chance to stop the mutation. The search for a cure continues despite the death.

The rats attack the swim competition being held in the new sports complex, killing several people, including Dean White. Chaos erupts as the facility becomes a battleground. The campus fights for survival amid the chaos.

Neil uses the enlarged but still-domesticated Louise to lure the huge rats into the university courtyard. Weizel and his men gun down all the creatures, ending the immediate threat on campus. The plan succeeds in clearing the immediate danger.

Neil phones Dr. Kate Travis to inform her of the antidote, but Bobby—now psychotic and larger than ever—kills Travis while she is on the line and escapes. The threat persists as Bobby roams free and dangerous.
