India is introduced after being ripped off by a porn producer. Moments later, two gay bashers chase them through the streets, and Destiny steps in with a gun drawn on the attackers. The tense encounter forges an uneasy alliance between India and Destiny.

Destiny vandalizes one of the bashers' Jeeps and retrieves a coat from a retreating assailant. She then invites India to come stay with her, offering a rough, makeshift family. Through Destiny's gesture, India meets Lester, another of Destiny's 'orphans.'
