The narrative unfolds with Isabel and her brother-in-law leaving a club, where they unexpectedly encounter a man from his past life during his incarceration. As this reunion unfolds, photographs are taken, and soon after, Isabel heads to the train station to await her ride home.

However, things take a surreal turn when Isabel begins perceiving mystical beings first at the plane station. Meanwhile, a detective is found murdered, throwing his partner into a relentless pursuit of the truth behind this tragedy. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he uncovers the unscrupulous nature of his late partner, prompting a stern warning from his chief of police to halt further inquiries that could endanger the pension intended for his partner’s widow.

Isabel, a dedicated Catholic nursery school teacher, becomes increasingly concerned about one of her disturbed students. When she invites the child to her home, she uncovers the shocking truth — the girl is a victim of horrific abuse at the hands of her father.

As the investigation into the corrupt cop intensifies, police question a street thug who associates with Isabel’s brother-in-law, who dismisses the inquiries casually, only to meet an untimely end. Simultaneously, the detective entrusted with the investigation confronts his former partner’s widow, intending to deliver troubling news about her husband’s death inquiry potentially endangering her financial security. This meeting erupts into chaos when she lashes out, urging them to leave.

During a birthday celebration for the detective, she surprises him with a muffin and an unexpected seduction, justifying their actions with the premise that both her husband and the detective’s wife are deceased, hence no crime has occurred. She chillingly reveals her late husband’s dark past, including his rapes while incarcerated.

As Isabel continues to see mystical figures, tragedy strikes when both her husband and his dog pass away, leading to sorrowful burial rites. Flashbacks unveil Isabel’s complicated emotions, revealing a physical relationship with her brother-in-law, compounded by the grief of losing her husband. Following this, a shock emerges when she discovers her pregnancy, labeling it a miracle. During a tense dinner, she shares the news with her brother-in-law, who coldly urges her to leave.

Seeking refuge, Isabel returns to live with her parents, while the detective remains preoccupied with concern for her safety, aware that anyone he questions about the case seems to meet a grim fate.

In an explosive finale, Isabel sneaks her abused pupil into her parents’ house, where the child screams of a man. In an intense moment, Isabel takes a knife and drives it into her father’s abdomen, subsequently cradling her pupil — who embodies a younger version of herself — revealing the traumas of her past abuse. The detective is seen in a poignant moment, comforting Isabel as she unravels the dark chapters of her history.

The story closes with a harrowing flashback, showing how Isabel left the club that fateful night, only to be abducted and brutally assaulted by the dead detective. After he walks away, she seizes the chance for revenge, plunging a knife into his back before pushing him onto the train tracks, solidifying her tumultuous journey.
