Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

Fourteen years after the Third Impact, Asuka and Mari embark on a mission to retrieve a container from Earth's orbit. This container holds Evangelion Unit 01 along with its pilot, Shinji Ikari, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a devastated world.

During the retrieval, Asuka inadvertently activates her own Evangelion, unleashing attack drones. These threats are swiftly neutralized by the reactivated Unit 01, showcasing the continued potency of the Evangelion technology.

Shinji is extracted from Unit 01 and fitted with a lethal explosive collar, ensuring his compliance. He is subsequently brought to Captain Misato Katsuragi, who now leads the organization WILLE, focused on dismantling the remnants of NERV.

In response to escalating conflicts, Misato activates the flying battleship Wunder, powered by Unit 01, to confront waves of attack drones. She warns Shinji about the heightened dangers of piloting Evangelions in the wake of the Third Impact.

The Wunder faces off against Evangelion Unit Mark.09, forcing Shinji to use Unit 01 for a daring escape. This sequence reveals the precariousness of their situation as they navigate through the remnants of destruction.

Upon reaching NERV HQ, Shinji encounters his father, Gendo Ikari, who pressures him to pilot a new Evangelion, Unit 13. This moment reframes their relationship and highlights Gendo's unresolved ambitions for Shinji.

Kaworu, who shares a deep bond with Shinji through music, tries to explain the catastrophic aftermath of Unit 01's awakening. Through this conversation, Shinji learns about Gendo's ominous plans tied to Unit 01's control system.

Kozo Fuyutsuki invites Shinji to play shogi, hinting at Rei's connection to Shinji's mother, Yui Ayanami. The truth unfolds that Rei is merely one of many clones of Yui, deepening Shinji's emotional turmoil and confusion.

Kaworu gains Shinji's trust by taking on the explosive collar himself as they prepare for a significant mission involving the mysterious Spears of Cassius and Longinus. This act cements their bond as they face formidable challenges.

Gendo's imminent orders result in the shocking decapitation of Mark.06 and trigger the emergence of the Twelfth Angel. This series of events leads to the manifestation of chaos as it becomes absorbed by Unit 13, launching the Fourth Impact.
