Enga Chinna Rasa

In Mettupatti village, Chinnarasu's father remarries and brings Nagamani into the family as his wife. Nagamani quickly positions herself as benevolent, while secretly plotting to seize control of the wealth left by Chinnarasu's late mother. The marriage sets the stage for a manipulation-filled power dynamic in the household.

Nagamani manipulates Chinnarasu, exploiting his trust and guiding him away from education. He matures into a principled yet illiterate man who implicitly follows her instructions. Nagamani uses his dependence to squander the family's wealth and isolate his father, who is branded a lunatic.

Nagamani arranges for her son Gnanasekar to marry Rukmini, a plan designed to consolidate control over the couple. Chinnarasu mistakes Rukmini as the bride intended for him and travels to her village to meet her. This sets up a clash between his loyalty to Nagamani and his emerging sense of justice.

Chinnarasu and his ally Mannangatti encounter Rukmini at a local festival and are allowed to stay the night at her place. Rukmini tends to Chinnarasu's wounds and shows unexpected kindness. The moment plants a tentative bond between them.

The following morning, Chinnarasu learns that the actual groom is his stepbrother, Gnanasekar. He confronts Nagamani, but she manipulates his emotions and coerces him to go along with the marriage plan. Gnanasekar flees the wedding hall, and Sathyagounder asks Chinnarasu to marry Rukmini in place of his nephew.

Chinnarasu reluctantly marries Rukmini, driven by family pressure and obligation. Due to his inferiority complex, he keeps a cautious distance emotionally, while Rukmini accepts him wholeheartedly. The new couple begins their life under Nagamani's watchful eye.

Nagamani hatches a plan to drive a wedge between the newlyweds, but Rukmini overhears the schemes. She informs Chinnarasu's father, who pleads with Nagamani to spare the marriage and protect his son's future. The tension between truth and manipulation deepens.

Rukmini reveals the extent of Nagamani's manipulations to Chinnarasu, but he refuses to believe her claims. The couple's trust frays as Nagamani maintains the facade of a caring stepmother. The rift threatens the stability of the marriage.

Nagamani's brother is revealed as the mastermind behind the embezzlement. He pretends remorse, but Chinnarasu discovers the misappropriated funds hidden in his cot and forces him to work as a farm laborer. The family wealth remains under threat but begins to be reclaimed.

Nagamani and Gnanasekar hatch a plan to swindle money under the pretense of building a hospital. Chinnarasu hands over the funds, but Rukmini outsmarts them, ensuring the money is used to construct a hospital in their village. The hospital project marks a pivotal shift in the power balance.

At the hospital's inauguration, it is revealed that Gnanasekar pretended to be a doctor. Chinnarasu saves Gnanasekar from arrest but punishes him by assigning him to farm labor. The deception tightens Nagamani's grip but also sows seeds for accountability.

In the climax, Chinnarasu and Rukmini confront Nagamani's cruelty; Gnanasekar is confronted, and Nagamani's wealth is challenged. Chinnarasu and Rukmini decide to leave their home and relinquish their properties to Nagamani, choosing to prioritize moral integrity over material wealth. Nagamani, overcome with remorse, falls at Chinnarasu's feet and begs forgiveness.
