Georgekutty, an orphan who left school early, becomes a shrewd cable TV entrepreneur in the village of Rajakkad. He balances a loving family life with a passion for cinema, earning the respect of locals with his storytelling and practical wit. The calm stability of his world sets the stage for the crisis to come.

During a nature camp, Anju is photographed in a bathroom by Varun's hidden phone. Varun confronts her and tries to coerce her into sex, signaling the danger looming over the family. The incident foreshadows the tragedy that follows.

Varun returns to the family home and repeats his coercive intentions, demanding Anju submit. In the ensuing struggle, Rani pleads for Varun to leave Anju alone and offers herself instead. Varun agrees only if Rani submits, setting off a violent sequence.

During the struggle, Anju strikes Varun in the head, killing him unintentionally. The family hides the body in a compost pit to cover up the crime. Anu witnesses the entire ordeal, remaining frightened and guilt-ridden.

Rani informs Georgekutty about the incident and he devises a plan to shield the family from the police. He disposes of Varun's broken phone and hides Varun's car, actions noticed by Sahadevan, a local constable with a grudge. The couple begins to orchestrate an alibi.

To create a watertight alibi, the family heads on a trip—first to a religious retreat, then to a cinema and a restaurant. They collect tickets, receipts, and travel proofs to present in case of questioning. Sahadevan grows more suspicious as the day unfolds.

IG Geetha Prabhakar launches a formal inquiry into Varun's disappearance. Georgekutty had anticipated this and prepared a seemingly airtight alibi. The family’s testimonies and outing proofs initially hold up under scrutiny.

Geetha learns from Varun’s friend Alex that a video Varun made implicates Anju, threatening to ruin the family. The revelation intensifies the interrogation and jeopardizes their carefully constructed alibi. The moment marks a turning point as the police begin to press harder.

Anu breaks and reveals the place where Varun’s body is buried. A dig at the compost pit uncovers only a cow carcass, suggesting Varun’s body was moved elsewhere. The discovery deepens the crisis and undermines the alibi.

The family goes to the media to expose Sahadevan’s torture, triggering a harsh response. Sahadevan is suspended and Geetha resigns from her post. The institutional wheels begin to turn against the police, setting up a standoff.

Georgekutty, now in remand, signs a register at the newly built police station. He steps out with quiet defiance, calmly asserting that the police exist to help the people. The moment reframes his control over the narrative.

In a final twist, it is revealed that Varun’s body had actually been buried beneath the police station itself. The truth remains buried in plain sight as the system reels from the manipulation. The film ends with Georgekutty's stoic confidence that justice will come.
