Dragoon Wells Massacre

Three wagons converge in the middle of nowhere, signaling the danger ahead. Jonah, an Indian trader, arrives with his wares, followed by a prison wagon carrying Link Ferris and Tioga, escorted by Marshal Bill Haney. The passengers are warned that Yellow Claw is nearby, and they must band together as a precarious alliance forms.

Jonah kills Jud and makes a break for it with the wagon, hoping to sell the guns hidden in its false bottom to the Indians. The attempt is thwarted when Link and the others intervene and place Jonah back under marshal custody.

Link traps Jonah and places him in the marshal's custody, securing the wagon's cargo. The group steels itself for the looming Apache attack as they press on.

The group makes a defensive stand against the Apache attack. Tom is killed during the assault, heightening the danger. Matt tells Yellow Claw that no more guns will be given if Jonah dies, causing Yellow Claw to withdraw.

They head toward the relay station with the Apaches in pursuit. Hopi Charlie is killed by an arrow, underscoring the escalating danger.

At the relay station they find the station master's wife barely alive and deeply worried about her daughter Susan. Tioga locates Susan in the cellar, while the dying mother is comforted by Ann.

Ann wakes to realize Susan is gone, kidnapped by the Apache. Tioga sacrifices his life to rescue the child and kill the Apache escaping with Susan.

They leave the relay station but are soon followed by Apache raiders; one horse carrying ammunition careens off a cliff, costing them precious supplies. The remaining travelers press on to the fort at Dragoon Wells.

They arrive at Dragoon Wells, only to find the soldiers dead and the fort's water supply salted. They cut cards to decide who will ride the last horse, and Link wins, riding out to seek help.

While waiting for help, Matt grows closer to Mara, and Ann breaks off her relationship with Philip. Ann and Mara briefly clash, pulled apart only by the marshal and Link.

The Apaches approach the fort with Link still captured and demand Jonah in exchange for Link. The others agree to the swap, and Jonah leaves with the raiders.

Ann tends to the injured Link as the group strengthens its defense. Matt and Link form a new alliance to repel the raiders, deepening their resolve.

Link sneaks up on Jonah, shoots him, and steals a horse to lure the Apache away from the fort. The group ambushes the raiders, and Yellow Claw is killed as the surviving Apaches retreat.

They seize Apache horses and press on toward Fort Bennington to seek safety and aid. The journey remains perilous, but the group is buoyed by a renewed sense of purpose.

For his help, Link is granted his freedom by Haney. He rides away, followed by Ann, signaling a new path for both of them after the perilous journey.
