On a remote country road, Todd Acosta and his girlfriend Sarah Fletcher, along with their carpool friends Jodi, Keren, Jeff, and Eric, become stranded when their SUV's tire blows out. They prepare to change the tire and hope for rescue. The tense calm is broken as the danger begins to close in.

Keren uses her hoodie to create a distraction while Todd, who has a slug lodged in his arm, struggles to put the SUV in neutral to move it for rolling cover. He takes several hits but persists. The others watch the possibility of a breakout fade as the sniper maintains the focus.

Eric uses a video shot from his cellphone to determine the sniper's position. His footage becomes a critical, grim resource for the group. The tactical effort hints at a possible rescue or counteraction, even as the danger remains immediate.

Keren heats a hammerhead with a lighter to cauterize Todd's arm wound. They drink from a water bottle and pass it around to stay hydrated while planning their next move. The sniper shoots Eric through his hand when he tries taking a sip.

In a quiet moment, Todd tells Jodi and Keren that his girlfriend Sarah was pregnant but lost their baby. The revelation hangs in the air and deepens the group’s sense of loss. The sniper remains ominously silent as they process the news.

A distant vehicle appears on the road, offering a possible rescue. Jodi regroups at the sheriff's truck with the deputy and the remaining marksman, then drives toward the sniper's position. She shoots the sniper with the rifle she recovers, but the gun jams; she uses the stock to bash the attacker, and a final misfire fires a bullet that tears through her throat, killing her.
