While Nobita sleeps, the floor shakes and a rabbit‑like creature named Chamii from another dimension opens a portal with a hammer, entering his room. Doraemon catches Chamii stealing food, and she reveals a passage to her spaceship. They board, travel to the Koya‑Koya planet, where they meet a boy named Roppuru and embark on a space adventure.

The film opens with Roppuru and Morina playing on a park aboard a spaceship. Suddenly, an earthquake paralyzes the ship. Morina's father rushes to fix it, but a lightning strike occurs and he is presumed dead.

After waking, Nobita believes it was all a dream. Doraemon explains that Gian and Suneo want to find him. They push him to convince a group of middle school baseball players to hand over the empty lot, but the plan backfires as the players chase him and knock him out.

That night Nobita dreams of Roppuru and Chammy trying to flee capture aboard a ship. The next morning, his friends press him to ask Doraemon to create land for a baseball stadium, and he reluctantly agrees.

While Nobita sleeps, Chammy forces the door between them open and raids the fridge. Nobita wakes Doraemon and they see Chammy stealing food. They chase Chammy, capture her, and she leads them to a passage into the spaceship. They fix the ship and leave for home.

Nobita and Doraemon fear they might not have a home to return to and go through the passage again, only to become stranded. Dorami takes Doraemon to see a doctor; Nobita tries to leave by himself and gets sucked into another dimension. There he encounters another planet and is chased by an unknown figure, only to be saved by one of Doraemon's gadgets.

On the next visit, Nobita and Doraemon clash with the same mining agents and are defeated along with their ship. Roppuru tells the town about their story, but the miners take away the evidence. The headquarters then calls Guillermin to help defeat Nobita and Doraemon; he devises many schemes but fails.

Doraemon and Nobita tell the others they cannot return for a while. Guillermin questions Morina and apologizes about her father's death, hinting at the real reason behind it. Agents attach a bomb to the dimensional door that will blow up anyone who opens it.
