Vince is depressed after his divorce, and six friends decide to lift his spirits with a boys' weekend. They hire a minibus and recruit Candy, the driver, to take them to Moodley. Banksy misses the bus and travels to Moodley on his own, setting up a separate thread of events.

They attempt to use the wounded Neil as bait to lure Candy back toward the bus, but two more infected women join her and all chase them into the streets. The group scatters through the town, hiding in a toy store, a clothes shop, and a butcher shop while Patrick ends up trapped on a billboard.

Neil is trapped by a morbidly obese woman who cuts off his little finger and eats it, but he eventually escapes. He is later reunited with the others in the local church. The danger escalates as the group moves toward a more secure shelter.
