Connie Sproutz is a likable young woman plagued by a spore‑generating deformity on her face, a condition that makes everyday life difficult as the spores cause her to dissolve into a gelatinous mass. An insidious neural parasite occupies the empty cavity of her skull, because she keeps her actual brain in a jar beside her bed.
