Wesley attends a job interview for a guidance counselor position at a Catholic school but ruins her chances when she begins to talk candidly about sex with the head nun. Her inappropriate comments make her realize she's not suitable for the role, leaving her feeling embarrassed and uncertain about her future. This sets the tone for her difficult year ahead.

After attempting to cheer up Wesley with her friends Brooke and Kaylie, a broken transformer falls onto Wesley’s car. This comedic mishap adds to her string of bad luck and deepens her feelings of frustration. Wesley’s day is further upset as her car is damaged unexpectedly.

Wesley goes on a blind date with Sean at a bar, where they have a brief, flirty conversation. Sean decides to end the date early after feeling overwhelmed by Wesley’s talk about marriage and children. Wesley, frustrated by her bad luck, storms out and trips over her heel, falling unconscious.

Wesley wakes up to Jared Sterling, a handsome stranger who invites her to his place. She quickly develops feelings for him, and they begin dating. After a month, they have sex, but Jared suddenly disappears, revealing he was in a coma after a car accident in Mexico, and the bad news ruins Wesley’s hopes.

Wesley, upset and drunk, and her friends Brooke and Kaylie, send an angry email to Jared, insulting him and making personal attacks. Jared calls to explain he was in a coma, but the email has already been sent, leading Wesley to realize she has made a terrible mistake.

Wesley and her friends decide to fly to Mexico to delete the email from Jared’s hotel room. They encounter various mishaps, including awkwardness with Wesley’s towel falling off and her mistaken identity with Nolan, a boy at the resort. Their behavior causes chaos and embarrassment.

While paddleboarding with Sean, Wesley is surprised when a dolphin swims up and begins humping her before slapping her with its fin. Traumatized, she passes out on the beach, leading Nolan to attempt CPR and her getting kicked out of the resort after vomiting on Debbie, her acquaintance.

Wesley is arrested after sneaking into Jared’s room to delete the email. Her friends bail her out, with Nolan surprisingly paying her bail out of love. Wesley, realizing her reckless behavior, contemplates her actions but ultimately plans to erase Jared’s email when he’s unaware.

Brooke and Kaylie visit a meditation retreat led by Angel de la Paz, where deep conversations lead Brooke to connect with Angel and finally vent her frustrations about her marriage. Kaylie becomes depressed and drunk, revealing her true feelings about her relationship and pregnancy difficulties.

Wesley and Sean follow the hotel van taking Jared to the airport, bonding during the chase. They enjoy a spontaneous stop at a quinceañera, and Wesley ultimately gets on the plane back to LA with Jared, hoping to fix her mistakes by deleting the email in person.

On the plane, Wesley shows Jared the email, and he reacts with horror, ending their relationship. Wesley is left alone, feeling miserable, while Brooke and Kaylie are too exhausted by the drama to help her, leading to a reflection on her chaotic journey.

Wesley lands a guidance counselor job after a school calls her based on Sean’s recommendation. She visits Kaylie, mistakenly believing her to be pregnant, and then recovers her cat Kevin from outside her house, witnessing Kaylie and Tad talking with a pregnant woman—who is actually a realtor.

Wesley apologizes to her friends for her reckless behavior and reassures a pregnant woman about Kaylie and Tad’s suitability as parents. She then visits the restaurant where she met Sean, trying to confess her regrets, but finds him on a casual date with another woman.

Sean’s date with another woman turns chaotic when she tells a crazy story, prompting Sean to run back outside and kiss Wesley. This final twist suggests Wesley is still searching for love and closure after her turbulent adventures.
