Mal grapples with her new celebrity life as Ben's girlfriend, and a spell has turned her hair blonde so she must project a princess-like persona at every turn. She confides in Evie, Carlos, and Jay about the pressure and her insecurity.

Evie scolds Mal for leaning on her mother's spell book to solve problems instead of facing her insecurities. She urges Mal to find strength from within rather than rely on magic.

Carlos asks Mal to help him ask Jane to the Cotillion, hoping to win favor. Mal provides a truth-telling sweet, but Dude eats it, and suddenly the dog speaks blunt truths in English, forcing Carlos to confront reality.

Ben discovers Mal's dependence on magic, and she comes clean about her insecurities. Their conversation leads to a heated falling-out as trust frays between them.

Mal flees to the Isle of the Lost, now ruled by Uma, Ursula's daughter, and she arrives with Harry and Gil in tow. The new power dynamic sets up a fresh set of threats and alliances.

On the Isle, Mal visits hairstylist Dizzy Tremaine who restores her signature purple hair and even adds bangs. This return to her look signals a reclaiming of her identity.

Harry learns of Mal's arrival and informs Uma, signaling that Mal's return could threaten Uma's plans. Uma begins plotting in response.

Ben, Evie, Jay, and Carlos sneak onto the Isle to find Mal, risking exposure and danger. Gil recognizes them, leading to a tense confrontation that raises the stakes.

Ben confronts Mal, but she rejects his feelings for both his sake and Auradon. He leaves dejected, and Uma captures him, tightening her grip on the situation.

Mal and Uma arm wrestle for Ben and the Fairy Godmother's wand. Uma wins and commands Mal and her friends to retrieve the wand in exchange for Ben's safe return.

Carlos and Jay return to Auradon Prep and print a replica of the wand using a 3D printer. Lonnie, Mulan's daughter, blackmails them into letting her join, claiming she was unfairly treated by Jay's team due to her gender.

Uma vents about her bitterness at not being chosen to go to Auradon and pretends to accept an invitation. Ben considers her offer but Uma plots to forge her own path to Auradon.

The fake wand is discovered by Uma, forcing Mal and her friends to flee back to Auradon. The discovery heightens the tension as both sides prepare for the Cotillion.

During the Cotillion aboard a ship, Ben arrives with Uma and declares her as his true love, prompting Jane to reveal a stained-glass display showing her affection for Mal. Mal realizes Ben loved her for who she is.

Suspecting a love potion, Mal confesses her love for Ben and kisses him, breaking the spell. Uma uses Ursula's seashell to transform into a sea monster while Mal fights back as a dragon; Ben intervenes and Uma leaves, returns the ring, and departs. Mal and Ben reunite, and Mal surrenders her spell book to Fairy Godmother, and Evie asks Dizzy to attend Auradon Prep, with Dizzy happily accepting.
