Rainbow 'Randolph' Smiley, the beloved host of a children's program, is arrested by the FBI for accepting bribes. This shocking event turns his life upside down and sets off a chain reaction that leads to his world unraveling.

Following Randolph's arrest, Kidnet cancels his popular children's show, leaving the network scrambling for a replacement. The abrupt end of his career hits Randolph hard, leading him into despair and homelessness.

Kidnet executive Marion Stokes embarks on a quest to find a new host who embodies wholesomeness and integrity. She eventually settles on Sheldon Mopes, an earnest man whose passion for children's entertainment soon puts him in a difficult position.

As Sheldon takes over, Smoochy the Rhino becomes an instant sensation, quickly capturing the hearts of children and families. His popularity causes Randolph's envy to grow, leading him to plot against Sheldon.
