Death Race: Beyond Anarchy

The Sprawl is a privatized prison where the Death Race has been outlawed by the new warden hired by Weyland International. Frankenstein, the race’s celebrated champion, stands in opposition to this order. The warden is tasked with removing Frankenstein to secure the system's control.

A prison SWAT team moves to eliminate Frankenstein after a Death Race. They kill several convicts before Frankenstein's loyal inmate army corners them and butcher them. The victory solidifies Frankenstein's grip and signals his dangerous reach inside the Sprawl.

A helicopter drops a group of new prisoners into the Sprawl and distributes rolls of silver coins. The Cops gang immediately attacks, killing most of the newcomers. Two survivors resist, defeat the gang's assault, and split up to make their way through the prison.

Connor is noticed by a group of women and taken to a bar run by Frankenstein, where Johnny Law is about to be killed for failing to secure all the landing coins. Connor defeats two henchmen, drawing Frankenstein's attention. The bartender Jane connects Connor with Baltimore Bob, who becomes his guide inside the Sprawl.

Baltimore Bob escorts Connor around the prison and into the Death Pit qualifying. Gypsy Rose wins the event, signaling the rising stakes. That night, Jane visits Connor again and they begin a relationship, intertwining Connor's fate with the Baron's schemes.

The next day, Connor declares he wants to compete in the Death Race. His qualifying challenge is a footrace to a tower, and he fights his way to the top, eventually securing the keys to a car while fending off the Butcher. Frankenstein hints at a greater prize if Connor prevails.

Frankenstein orders Carley to bring Connor to him, but in the shower, Carley makes a pass at Connor. He refuses, underscoring his loyalty to his mission while Frankenstein tightens his control over Connor’s fate.

Connor begins assembling his Death Racer with Baltimore Bob. A woman who witnessed his early fight asks to be his co-pilot, and he reluctantly accepts. He spends another night with Jane, deepening their relationship before the race.

On the morning of the Death Race, Frankenstein reveals to the crowd that Connor is actually Sergeant Connor Gibson, a special operative. Connor is permitted to compete, but Jane is designated as an 'insurance policy' against him, deepening the personal stakes for both.

Racers fall one by one as the Death Race winds through the course. By the late stages, only four remain: Connor, Frankenstein, Johnny Law, and Gypsy Rose. The field tightens around the tower and the brutal obstacles they must overcome.

In the final stretch, Gypsy Rose T-bones Frankenstein, swinging the outcome in Connor's favor. She reveals she is also a special agent and hints at a helicopter ready to extract them. Connor is torn between his past and the life he could have with Jane.

Baltimore Bob tells Connor to put on the mask, become Frankenstein, and rule the Sprawl. He takes Frankenstein's coat and mask, wins the Death Race, and presumably stays to govern the Sprawl as his successor. The transformation cements his new identity and path.
